International Fair of the Crafts and Arts BULGARIKA
Through the Festival the organizers aspire to popularize the traditional crafts and their transfer through time as valuable practices. The slogan of the Festival is “Person is created to create”. From 1917 to 2011 it existed under the name "The Fair of Crafts". Since 2012 it has been held under its current name "International Fair of Crafts and Arts "Bulgarika".
Among the accompanying initiatives are the International En plein air for the Fine Arts /every five years/, Round tables “Ecclesiastic Arts – Preservation and Development”, Competitions “Souvenirs” and for children’s drawings. There is an International Art Academy, concerts, spectacles etc.
Initially the fair was held at the entrance to the Sea Garden. In 2002 it was in the space around the Palace for Culture and Sports. In the period 2003 – 2009 the event was established in the so-called “Hole” in the yard of the Professional High School for Economics “G. S. Rakovski”. After an interruption, in 2010 it was established in the area of the Sea Garden.
