The Festival is after the initiative of the Varna Municipality, the Festival and Congress Center represented by the director of the Center Iliya Raev and the film critic Prof. Aleksandar Grozev. The official program usually includes about 12 – 15 selected films, produced during the previous two years, treating the theme of love. They are assessed by an international jury. The winner’s award is a work of the plastic art “Golden Aphrodite”, whose author is the sculptor Plamen Bratanov.

Outside the competitive program, there are organized special cinepanoramas, retrospections of film makers and works by young authors, concerts, discussions and other events related to the film art. The Festival is held in the halls of the Festival and Congress Center.
